Dan Fox
Backstory
Dan started out as a Camera Operator & Editor working on live events across the UK.
With a want to learn more about the craft, Dan first studied on a HND course in ‘Film & TV Design’ & then later moved on to the ‘Design: Moving Image’ degree course at the North Wales School of Art & Design, from which he graduated in 2003 with BA(Hons) First Class.
After graduation he incorporated Chat Noir Productions Ltd, with friend & business partner Mark Ellingham. As Chat Noir was still finding its feet, Dan took his graduation film Vendetta, to New York, where it won Best International Short at the International Independent Film and Video Festival, 2004.
Over the next few years alongside building Chat Noir, freelancing as a guest lecturer & mentoring 3rd year students at several Universities & colleges, Dan worked on his first feature film Dreamscape, completing it in 2009.
Chat Noir Productions started to take up more & more of Dan’s time & so the lecturing circuit steadily took a back seat so he could concentrate his efforts as Creative Director into growing the business.
These Days
He can usually be found drafting, redrafting & re-redrafting scripts, running around with a camera or staring at an edit suite monitor, all in pursuit of delivering the perfect film.
